Answers to frequently asked questions

Check-in / Check-out

Q01
What time is Check-in and Check-out?
A

Check-in time is usually 14: 00 ~ 18: 00. Please inform us if your arrival time is expected to be after 17:00.
(If you arrive at 19:00 or later we may not be able to offer you a dinner.)
Check-out time is basically up to 11:00. We will be happy to keep your luggage and car for you before your check-in time and after your check-out time.

Can I use a credit card for payment?
A

We accept various kinds of credit cards including VISA and JCB.

What is your cancellation policy?
A

The cancellation fee is applied from 5 days prior to the reserved day.

If the reservation is canceled on the intended check-in day: 100% of the room charge
If the reservation is canceled the day before the intended check-in day: 80% of the room charge
If the reservation is canceled 2 days before the intended check-in day: 80% of the room charge
If the reservation is canceled 3 days before the intended check-in day: 50% of the room charge
If the reservation is canceled 5 days before the intended check-in day: 30% of the room charge
Please inform us as soon as possible in case of the schedule change.

Can children stay at this hotel?
A

We are afraid but we only accept children whose ages are 12 or over. Please kindly understand that we do not accept children whose ages are under 12.

Can children stay at the hotel?
A

We are sorry to inform that Shourotei only accepts children from 12 years old and above. Children under 12 years old (including infants) are not permitted.

Will I receive any information by mail once I make the reservation? Also, do I need to pay a deposit?
A

We will send you information brochures and other materials only upon request. No deposit is required.

Pickup / Access

Q01
Are there car parks?
A

There are private car parks for our customers. However, the space can accommodate only about 10 cars, so please make sure to clearly inform us if you come by car. Please also let us know if you come earlier as we can take your car for you to a safe car park.

Is there a pickup service?
A

Pickup service is available from the nearest station called Amanohashidate station to the hotel. Please contact us in advance when you know your arrival time.

Is there anything I should be careful about when I visit the hotel in winter? * Does the region around the hotel have a lot of snow?
A

There may be snow cover in a winter season. We recommend our customers to provide snow chain or install winter tires on their car if they come in winter as there may also be snow covers somewhere on the way to the hotel. We cannot precisely predict the weather in the future until it gets closer, so please contact us directly if you have any questions about the weather. Umbrellas and rain boots are also available. But please note that we have only a limited sized and numbers of the boots.

Large public bath / Hot springs

Is there an open-air bath?
A

We have open-air baths for both men and women. You can have a relaxing time in the bath. The available gender for each open-air bath is to be switched between morning and night so that you can enjoy both baths.

Is there a private open-air bath?
A

We are sorry but we do not have a private open-air bath.

I would like to know the available time for the large public bath and available amenity goods.
A

Hot spring hours are 6:00-10:00 and 11:00-23:00.

We provide; shampoo, hair conditioner, body soap, hand towel, bath towel, hair brush, cotton swab, hair dryer.

Can I take one-day trip to the hot springs?
A

One-day trips to the hot springs are not available.

I would like to know the available room equipment and amenity goods.
A

Air-Conditioner, bath, toilet (with seat heater and bidet function), LCD TV, refrigerator, safe, telephone, kettle, tea set, yukata(summer kimono), towel, bath towel, shampoo, hair conditioner, hair dryer, hand soap, toothbrush, hairbrush, shower cap, shaver, soap, nail clipper, sewing kit (Basically bringing soft drinks/ alcohol by your own is not allowed. Please note that you may have to pay a bringing charge if you bring in.)

Is there a non-smoking room?
A

We do not have a particularly designated non-smoking room, but we do our best to carefully deodorize a room if you request us in advance.

Is a room barrier-free?
A

We are sorry, but we do not have a barrier-free room.

Q04
Are dinner and breakfast taken in a room? What time does a dinner start?
A

Both dinner and breakfast are to be taken in a room. Standard starting time for a dinner is 18:00, 18:30, or 19:00. Breakfast starts from 7: 30, 8: 00, or 8: 30. We will ask you the time at the time of Check-in.

I have an allergy to some ingredients.
A

If you have an allergy to an ingredient please inform us in advance when you make a reservation. We will arrange your meal without allergen as much as possible. (We can provide a vegetarian meal, but please note that we are using dried bonito and seafood for stocks used for seasoning of a dish.)

Is the Internet available?
A

Free WiFi (Wireless LAN) is available in the hotel rooms. Please use it freely.

Q02
Is there a convenience store near the hotel?
A

There is a convenience store in 5-minutes walking distance from the hotel. Please feel free to ask our staff if you are not sure the way to go.

I cannot sit on my heels because I have a problem in my knee...
A

We can provide a table and chairs from your check-in or at the time of dinner/ breakfast. Please inform us when you make a reservation.

Can you prepare cakes for celebrations?
A

Please contact us in advance so that we can help you organizing a beautiful celebration with arrangements like a whole cake and flowers (charged).

Are there any beaches nearby?
A

Amanohashidate Beach is less than 10 minutes walking from the hotel.
Since it is very close, you can change into your swimsuit from your room.
After bathing in the sea, you can conveniently go directly to the public baths.

Is there any hospital nearby?
A

The North Medical Center Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine is located 10 minutes away by car.

I have bad knees and can't sit upright...
A

We can provide tables and chairs from the time of check-in or in your room at mealtime. Please let us know at the time of reservation.

We are going for our anniversary, will you provide anything special?
A

We will provide you a small, but thoughtful gift.
We also have chanchanko (in red, purple and yellow) available for rent, so please let us know if you would like one when you make a reservation.

Are there charging stations for electric vehicles?
A

In order to accommodate the spread of environmentally friendly eco-cars, we have installed two charging stations for plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHV) and electric venicles (EV) in the parking lot at Monjusou Hotel, our sister hotel.
